Square One Art Salons
What is Square One?
Square One is ever-present, open, non-conceptual awareness; our capacity to know what we are experiencing, often without even verbalizing it. We all are aware. From awareness of our experience, creating is possible. Meditation and contemplation help us settle into an open receptive awakened state that is Square One. Instruction in these practices is part of the program.
Who is invited?
Square One Saturdays are for creative souls or those who long to be, using any media or discipline (ie. visual, musical, literary or performative, etc.) All levels of experience are welcome.
What happens?
We sit for 15 – 20 minutes, with a guided meditation. We discuss the month’s theme as it relates to our creative practice, create in ways that engage our senses and awareness of our experience and share our creations. Join us for two hours each month to share your creativity with a supportive community of fellow creators.
Who is the host?
These online monthly gatherings are hosted by Rebekah Younger, author of Be, Awake, Create: Mindful Practices to Spark Creativity. You can find out more about Rebekah here and here.
Where and when do you meet?
We meet on Zoom on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 1:30pm – 3:30 pm Central (US).
